The timeless question of faith.
It was on a walk with my almost 13-year-old daughter that the question of faith became a topic. For probably the very first time I saw that faith can be questioned from the youngest of ages. She discussed her insights and her opinions about the whole idea of faith and God. As I listened to her thoughts it gave me a message to share with all of you. I found myself seeing so clearly just how intentional we need to be about our faith not just in God but ourselves.
But why?
Well here’s the thing about faith, it is intangible, immeasurable, invisible yet when you have faith it can be one of the most intense driving forces to continue moving forward. As women, we encounter challenges that can almost obliterate any sense of faith you have in yourself and unfortunately in God as well. At some point, we will encounter our own kind of hurt. Maybe you just lost a family member, got passed over for that promotion you had set your sights on, or recently encountered rejection from a loved one. All these incidents may seem trivial to others but it’s not about how others see it. It is about how you receive it. You have a choice on how you can receive and react to what is challenging you at the moment. In the Armor of God, faith is a shield to protect from the fiery darts that come our way. That is why our site should not be on our circumstances but on the one who can give us hope to believe the best is yet to come. Your faith can be a weapon of mass construction!
2 Corinthians 5:7 says: “I will walk by faith EVEN when I cannot see.”
Now my own interpretation of this is that there are moments when it feels like you can’t see what’s ahead. Have you been there? Back up against the wall, drowning in a situation that seems to have no way out. Has your faith in what you believe to be true about God, about yourself ever felt…dark? Well if you have been there, there’s hope for you still. Bible verses were meant to be a shared experience with your savior. It’s what He left behind for you, a piece of His thoughts about you. An expression of what He hoped for you. A blueprint of who He created you to be.
And who is that?

I could give you a long list of verses that talk about who you are, about why you should believe in yourself but it counts all the more when you take the time to search it out on your own. Faith (like love) is an action word. Built from numerous moments where you will have to look yourself in the mirror and push yourself to believe. To believe in who you were called to be, in who loves you most of all and that my friend is when faith moves mountains! Remember God is the author and perfector of our faith and because of Him, our faith will grow as you continue but put your trust in him.

So here’s to you beautiful. Take the time today to find a new perspective. You have not been challenged but gifted the opportunity to rise above the situation. It has not overtaken you. I have faith in you and most of all God does too.
